Born Pretty Store Review: Bow & Stamping Plate

Hi guys!  I finally did it!  I did my first fairly successful stamping mani.  If you've been following me for a while, you'll know that I did one other stamping mani before.  I'm not going to link it, because it was pretty disastrous.  Anyway, I could never get the hang of it and I kind of gave up.  I decided I was doomed to forever freehand my nail art.  But then I saw this cute stamping plate from Born Pretty Store, so I decided to give it another go. :)

Not bad right?  Well, it's definitely an improvement.  I used black and white because those are the easiest colors to use...lol.  And as of right now, this specific white polish is the only color I can get to stamp. -_-

The plate I used for this design is Cute Cat Lace Flower Design Nail Art Stamp Template - QA15.  I also used their double ended stamper, which is great if you want to quickly switch between big and small designs.  I also own the scraper that came with it, but I didn't use it because it scratches the plate.  Instead I used an old plastic card.

First off, I noticed that their plates are now covered in blue plastic film (instead of clear), so there's no way you'll forget to take it off.  The plate itself is a little sharp around the edges, so I recommend handling it carefully.  As for the designs themselves, they're well engraved and sized appropriately.  The full nail designs are much bigger than my nails, so I had no problem covering them.

For some color, I added a pink 3D bow on my middle nail.  I love how it looks against the black and white, but I wish it was smaller.  I don't mind 3D nail art stickers.  I drool over acrylic designs in Japanese nail art magazines all the time.  But this felt too big for my nail.  (For reference, I do have small, narrow nails.)  I can't imagine wearing this for an every day nail look.  I think it's better reserved for special occasions where you want your nails to make a statement.  It's a shame, because I've been eyeing 3D bows for over a year. T_T  Maybe I'll be able to find some that fit my nails one day.

Sigh, doesn't it look pretty though?  I think people with wider/bigger nails will love this.  You can find all of the products used here at bornprettystore.com.  Be sure to use code F10X31 for 10% off!

Anyway, as much as I love these bows, I know they're never going to get used...so...

I'm giving them away!  I knew I had other nail art supplies stashed away that never get used, so I added them to the giveaway as well.  The BPS products were provided to me for review (used lightly once for the review) and the others are brand new and purchased by me.  All you have to do to enter is fill out the form below!  This giveaway is also open internationally.  Yay! :)  It's also an unannounced giveaway to thank all of you who read my posts.  Good luck!  I hope you win. :)
