OPI & China Glaze Haul

Today I visited a beauty supply store I've been wanting to visit for awhile.  It's kind of far from my house, but close to the bf's place, so he offered to take me there.  Since we were both back home for spring break, we decided to head out today for some hauling.  Before driving there we shared a chicken teriyaki sandwich together for a quick lunch.  One of my (many) guilty pleasures.

So what did I get?  I grabbed a few polishes from the OPI Holland collection, the China Glaze Hunger Games and Electropop collection, and a few others.

1. Wooden Shoe Like to Know? / 2. Pedal Faster Suzi! / 3. I Don't Give a Rotterdam! / 4. Gouda Gouda Two Shoes / 5. I Have a Herring Problem / 6. Make Some Noise / 7. Atlantis / 8. Luxe and Lush / 9. Fast Track / 10. Riveting

I also bought two CG base coats.  I go through those like water.  And a back up bottle of CG Atlantis.  Atlantis is one of those discontinued polishes.  Fortunately it can be easily found online for retail price.  I've been meaning to buy Atlantis for a while now, so when I saw it in stores I grabbed the two that they had.

The bf was really good about this trip.  I think I spent over an hour ah-ing and oohing over a bunch of polishes, trying to decide which ones I must have, and narrowing down polishes to fit my budget.  I put him through a lot of torture. T__T

The weird thing is, when I was contemplating over CG Make Some Noise, the bf asked, "Don't you already have that color?"  To which I confidently replied, "No."  As fate would have it, I do in fact have this color. -_-

Bottles: SinfulColors Timbleberry, CG Make Some Noise // On nail: CG Make Some Noise, SC Timbleberry
Sorry about this blogging fail.  The pics aren't ordered consistently so make sure you read the caption correctly.  I wasn't thinking when I was taking these pics or when I was editing.  Hey, it's almost 3am. -_-  In the bottle there's a small difference.  The SC is a bit brighter and more coral, while the CG is a bit more muted and red.  However on the nail, there is barely any difference.  The above pics were taken in flash, and in my opinion flash picks out differences a lot better than natural lighting.  Yet it's hard for me to tell them apart in my swatch.  If you look really hard, SC is a bit more coral/orange.  In the end, I can confidently say these two are dupes.  I can't justify owning both, so the CG is going back.  I'm thinking of getting Kinetic Candy instead, which is quite close in color to a franken I made last summer.  I may also get Gothic Lolita. ;)

Well, I must really go to sleep now!  Good night!

7 Deadly Sins

Hey guys!  Here's a tag that's been going around on Youtube.  I don't do videos, but I thought the questions were cute, so I decided to write them out in a blog post. :)

The tag is called 7 Deadly Sins.  Basically these are beauty related questions that kind of align with the 7 deadly sins.  I'll be answering these questions in terms of nail polish. ^^

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
My most inexpensive polish would have to be those 99 cent Wet n Wild polishes.  I usually buy the clear for frankens.  My most expensive polishes are my Deborah Lippmann glitters: Happy Birthday, Forget You, and Candy Shop.  My Ozotic Pro #503 Rainforest would probably make this list as well, since I paid about $25 after shipping.

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
Hm...the polish that comes to mind right now is Essie Turquoise and Caicos.  I love the color of this polish but hate the formula.  I did notice that waiting for each layer to dry does help with application though.  Maybe I'll give it another try soon.  And the product that has been the hardest to get would probably be my China Glaze OMG polishes.  I'm hesitant to say hardest, since I pretty much gave up on ever owning them, but I was lucky enough spot and grab them at ABOP's blog sale.  I still haven't swatched them all, strangely enough.  I think I'll do that this week, since the sun is out. :)

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
Okay...so this doesn't apply to nail polish obviously.  On a semi-related note, I'm thinking of picking up that scented Betsey Johnson polish.  Should I?  The color is not that unique, but I think a fragrance scented polish would be nice.  I'm still trying to decide if I want to buy this one.  Does anyone own it?  Opinions?

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
Sometimes cuticle oil.  I'll be really good about for a few weeks, and then when I'm really busy I slack off.  Once I notice the horrid state my cuticles are in, I apply it night and day for a few weeks until it looks great on.  It's a bad cycle. -__-

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
I'm going to answer this one beauty product wise.  For me it's eye liner.  I would say false lashes because I love them even more than eye liner, but I usually don't wear falsies, so it's eye liner.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
The random question of the bunch.  Definitely a sense of humor.  Someone I can joke and laugh with. :)

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Probably anything on my wish list.  Especially any discontinued China Glaze polish!  A few that come to mind are DV8, 2NITE, IDK, and L8R G8R.  These would make my collection of OMG polishes complete.  I would also love to own China Glaze No Way Jose (both versions).  It's probably the first polish to make my lemming list. T__T

Well, that's it!  Hope you enjoyed this post. :)  Feel free to leave your answers to this tag in the comments below!

(Little) Obsessions

Hey there!  I just wanted to do a quick post, so that I'm not too MIA.  I was sick with the stomach flu or some kind of food poisoning last week, and I'm finally better.  It was kind of crazy, because I actually decided to suck it up (no pun intended) and went to class the first day I was sick.  It was not a good idea.  After the bell rang, I ran to the bathroom and then stood around waiting for people to leave in order to avoid horrifying the primping occupants with my retching.  I'm so glad that is over.

I don't have a nail post ready yet, so instead I'm going to share with you some of my current obsessions.  Little is in parenthesis because that part is questionable.

Obsession #1: Lipstick and two toned lips!
I've never really worn much lipstick, but now I wear them all the time.  This is mostly linked with my current love of the Revlon Lip Butters.  In terms of make up I'm really into neutral looks and soft pink lips, but now I love wearing vibrant lip colors.  Related to my new lipstick love is the two toned lip look.  The above image is a promo pic from MAC's Too Supreme line, and I love the pink orange lips.  I found this really nice tutorial for a similar look that I want to try sometime: How to Creat Sunburst Lips- Like a Boss.

Obsession #2: Floral Backpacks
How cute is this backpack from Urban Outfitters?  (P.S. You can click the picture to visit the product link.)  This one is $69.00, however, which is way more than what I'm willing to spend on a backpack.  So when I saw that Target is selling one that looks almost exactly like the one above for $30, my eyes became very very round.  Sorry I don't have a pic of the Target one, but it's a Target by Mossimo Floral Backpack.  There's a cream one and a sort of minty one.  You can see them at end of these two Youtube videos if you're curious: Cream Floral and Mint Floral.  I really really really hope I can find these, or I will be so sad.  I can't decide if I want the cream one or the mint one.  Hm...

Obsession #3: DIY Bracelets
I love the stacked bracelet trend, and what better way to follow this trend then by making your own to stack?  I especially love these DIY Braided Bead Bracelets and intend to make a bunch in different colors over spring break.  I'm also in love with these as well: DIY Braided Hex Nut Bracelet & DIY Wrap Bracelet.  Who knew you could make such a nice bracelet out of a bunch of nuts?

I don't want to bore you, so I'll end it here.  Those are pretty much my top three non nail polish related obsessions right now.  Do have any obsessions besides nail polish?  Let me know!  I'd love to hear about it. :D

P.S.  How do you like the new blog look?  I think it looks cleaner. ^^
